Water JPI workshop connects joint programming with the UN Sustainable Development Goals

In order to strengthen the connection between the Water JPI Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the SDGs, a workshop was organised on March 24th in Dublin, Ireland. At the meeting, Water JPI activities in relation to the SDGs were elaborated on to define the call content for the 2017 joint call for R&I proposals and identification of possible new RDI gaps. Forty-four participants from different stakeholder communities, research funding agencies, national experts and UN institutions advised on the five core themes of the SRIA and suggested amendments to better reflect the global water challenges in their title and in the description of the RDI needs as well as strengthening the international dimension and support of gender balance in the core themes.
