Three JPI’s join forces for Food and Nutrition Security research

FACCE-JPI, JPI Oceans and JPI HDHL have joined forces to coordinate efforts in the area of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS). This complex issue requires an integrated systems approach as it includes the entire food system; land-based as well as water-based and ranges from farm to fork.  Coordination is needed to bring together different research domains, national and international research investments, and to ensure involvement of key actors (consumers, primary producers, industry etc.) to stimulate innovation and implementation. This coordination between FACCE-JPI, JPI Oceans and JPI HDHL aims to define a research programme to address the challenge. The research is expected to contribute to the implementation of the European Commission’s FOOD 2030 initiative as well as the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

More information is available on the FACCE-JPI , JPI HDHL and JPI Oceans websites.

The joint paper Food and Nutrition Security: A multi-disciplinry integrative food system approach has been adopted by the governing boards of FACCE-JPI, JPI Oceans and JPI HDHL.
