ThinkForest seminar "Leading the way to a new European bioeconomy strategy", Berlin, 10 May 2017

ThinkForest organises a seminar which addresses the new European bioeconomy strategy and asks the following questions:

  • How can bioeconomy contribute to sustainable and circular economic development?
  • What makes a successful bioeconomy strategy?
  • How can we move from strategy to action?

The keynote speaker will be Christian Schmidt, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Germany, who will speak about the role of the forest-based bioeconomy. Göran Persson, the ThinkForest president, will chair the seminar.

A part of the programme will be a panel discussion about “Successful Bioeconomy Strategy and Action Needed”.  It will be moderated by Joanna Dupont Inglis, Chair of the EU Bioeconomy Panel, and the panel includes Cristina Narbona, Counselor of the Nuclear Safety Council of Spain (Minister of Environment, Spain 2004-2008) Janez Potočnik, Co-Chair of UN International Resource Panel ( EU Commissioner 2004-2014), and Waldemar Kütt, Head of Unit - Strategy, DG Research and Innovation

It is chaired by former Swedisch Prime Minister Göran Persson, and helps to build bridges on pan-European forest and bioeconomy issues.
