Harnessing Research and Innovation for FOOD 2030: A Science Policy Dialogue

Building on the successful FOOD2030 High Level Event in October 2016, a follow-up conference will be organised to continue the dialogue on Food and Nutrition Security (FNS). This one day event will contribute to the ongoing science-policy dialogue in the area of FNS and disseminate successful European Research and Innovation initiatives. The conference will provide a stakeholder platform where the current state of European research, innovation and investment is assessed. Next steps will include exploration of future needs relevant to:

  • Sustainable and healthy nutrition;
  • climate-resilience and environmental sustainability;
  • circularity and resource efficienty; and
  • food system innovation and empowerment of communities.

The conference will take place on October 16, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium and is free of charge. It is open to researchers, policy makers, funders and investors, public authorities, industry, entrepreneurs, students and civil society representatives. It will act as an important milestone in the preparation of the second High Level Event to be held under the Bulgarian Presidency in the first half of 2018.
