First results JPI HDHL call for 'Policy Evaluation Network'
In February 2017, JPI HDHL partners launched the second joint funding action 'Effectiveness of existing policies for lifestyle interventions – Policy Evaluation Network (PEN)' within the ERA-NET ERA HDHL. The aim of the call is to establish a transnational, multi-disciplinary research network for the monitoring, benchmarking and evaluation of policies that affect dietary and physical activity as well as sedentary behaviour with a standardized approach across Europe. The Policy Evaluation Network should make use of the achievements of the previous JPI HDHL Joint Action “Determinants of Diet and Physical Activity Knowledge Hub” (DEDIPAC KH) and combine them with other existing tools and frameworks to develop a consistent and sustainable approach for the evaluation and benchmarking of existing policies.
In total, 54 eligible Expression of Interest letters (EoI) have been submitted to the Joint Funding Action. After the evaluation by the Scientific Evaluation Committee, 28 research groups were selected to elaborate a joint network proposal.
To facilitate the working process, all selected research groups were invited to a network meeting in Bonn, Germany, on 13 June to get in touch with each other, elect the network coordinator and start the discussion on the potential structure of the network and the joint proposal. The final funding decision is expected by the end of 2017.
