Final event MLE event on alignment and interoperability held in June, documents now available
On the 28th of June, the final event of the Mutual Learning Exercise (MLE) on alignment and interoperability was held in Brussels. Launched in July 2016, the MLE brought together representatives from Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden and Turkey with Germany participating as an observing country. The MLE focused on the need Members States feel to improve the alignment and interoperability of their national research programmes.
In the closing event, the findings of the project and the lessons learned were discussed with all interested Member States. Next to addresses by the Deputy Director General of DG Research and Innovation (DG RTD), and the Slovenian State Secretary Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, there were three presentations from national policy experts on the main experiences and lessons of the MLE and future policy reforms. The event closed with a panel discussion featuring representatives from Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs), DG RTD and policy experts from various countries. An announcement for the event was circulated to members of the High-Level Group for Joint Programming (GPC).
