SCAR Working Groups present past years' work and upcoming plans
The latest newsletter from the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) highlights the achievements of the of the six Strategic and two Collaborative Working Groups in the second half of 2018. In addition to a number of studies that were conducted in 2018, groups have conducted mappings, produced policy briefs and participated in meetings. Several of the groups will be preparing for renewal of their new mandate in 2019. The SCAR Foresight Group is well on its way to conduct its fifth Foresight study, titled: Natural resources and food systems: Transition towards a ‘safe and just’ operating space. Experts to carry out the exercise were nominated and selected. They will start in 2019 with a Kick-off meeting.
The Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) provides the European Commission, its Member States and Associated Countries with independent policy advice on better cooperation and alignment of research activities in agriculture and the wider bioeconomy in Europe.
