Research proposals invited on targeted nutrition and on unhealthy weight gain prevention
Two calls under the Joint Programming Initiative ‘a Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ (JPI HDHL) have opened recently. The HDHL-INTIMIC’ PREPHOBES call on ‘Prevention of unhealthy weight gain and obesity during crucial phases throughout the lifespan’ and the ERA-HDHL’ PREVNUT call on ‘Development of targeted nutrition for prevention and treatment of undernutrition in elderly’.
The PREPHOBES call aims to support research projects that focus on the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative strategies designed to prevent or reduce overweight and obesity, in defined target populations based on certain life stages. Eleven funding agencies from ten different countries, including the Netherlands, have already committed a budget of more than EUR 7 million. The pre-proposal deadline is April 3rd, full proposal deadline is July 10th.
The PREVNUT call aims at improving understanding of how the balance between nutrition, lifestyle and physical exercise can prevent undernutrition. Eleven countries and fourteen funding organisations have pooled resources of around EUR 6 million. Researchers from countries that are not funding this call, can join with their own resources, with a maximum of two per consortium. The proposal deadline for this single-stage call is April 7th.
More information on both calls can be found on the JPI HDHL website.
