New ERA-NET on infectious animal diseases on its way
Also in the area of international coordination of research on infectious animal diseases, a new ERA-NET is on its way. ICRAD brings together 28 interested funding parties from 19 countries, including 4 non-EU countries. Animal health is a key element to guarantee food safety and security, by means of competitive and sustainable livestock systems. Partnerships and collaborations at the European and international levels are important for fighting infectious animal diseases, including those which are a significant threat to human health and international trade. For the Cofunded call of this new ERA-NET, the network has a funding commitment of nearly EUR 24 million, including about EUR 6,5 million from the European Commission. The Call pre-announcement is expected in October 2019.
