New ERA-NET Cofund ‘ICT-AGRI-FOOD’ pre-announces joint research call
The recently launched ERA-NET Cofund Call on ICT-enabled agri-food systems, strives to improve coordination between national and EU funding and to ensure better use of resources in the priority research areas. The ICT-AGRI network, that originated in 2009, is currently preparing its first call under the current, new ERA-NET Cofund. Twenty-nine institutions from twenty-two countries, together with co-funding from the European Commission, bring together an overall budget of over EUR 20 million. Research should be relevant for enabling digital technology solutions for a transition towards more sustainable and resilient agri-food systems. The proposed research projects should also favour transparency and traceability for all stakeholders, from farmers all way down to consumers and not least politicians and decision makers. The Netherlands is participating in the call. The call will be published at the end of November 2019 with a closing date for preproposals submissions at the end of January 2020.
