BlueBio joint call received strong response
The ERA-NET Cofund on the Blue Bioeconomy - Unlocking the Potential of Aquatic Bioresources (BlueBio) supports public-to-public partnerships between Member States and Associated Countries. Their first call focussed on projects that explore innovative, yet sustainable and climate-friendly utilisation of aquatic biomass at different trophic levels. While aiming to create, test, upscale and bring to the market new knowledge-intensive products and services derived from a diversity of aquatic biomass, this call also required active involvement of industry.
By closing date of the call on March 17th, eighty-three project (pre-)proposals were submitted: Forty-one focussed on ‘Exploring new bioresources’; twenty-three on ‘Exploring improvements in fisheries and aquaculture’; fourteen on ‘Exploring synergies across sectors’ and five on ‘Exploring Biotechnology and ICT’. Pre-proposals will be selected at the beginning of June and will be invited for full proposal submission afterwards. The deadline for full proposal submission is September 17th, 2019.
